In an exciting announcement, Winton Woods High School's standout senior linebacker and edge rusher, Justin Hill, has given his verbal commitment to the University of Alabama. The four-star player made this highly anticipated decision on his 17th birthday, during a special event held at the school's gymnasium. Surrounded by his loved ones, friends, and coaches, Hill expressed his gratitude and excitement for the opportunity that lies ahead.

After making the decision on Tuesday night, Hill reached out to Alabama outside linebackers coach Christian Robinson to convey his choice. Reflecting on the process, Hill mentioned that he had firmly made up his mind the previous night, pondering alone in his room and considering what would enable him to excel.

Hill's exceptional talent has garnered much attention from college coaches, resulting in nearly 30 scholarship offers since October 2021. Standing at an impressive 6-foot-3 and weighing 235 pounds, Hill has been rated as Ohio's No. 4 player in the 2025 class and is ranked as the nation's No. 7 edge rusher according to 247 Sports.

Prior to committing to Alabama, Hill had narrowed down his options to include prestigious programs such as Ohio State, Oregon, and the University of Southern California. He took official visits to all four universities in June, leading up to this momentous decision.

Beyond his football aspirations, Hill remains focused on his academic pursuits. Holding a commendable 3.7 grade-point average, he has expressed interest in pursuing a major in either mechanical or chemical engineering, with a minor in real estate. Hill recognizes the importance of preparing for life outside of football and aims to secure a valuable degree that can support him in the future.

As the football season approaches, Winton Woods High School, with an 8-4 record in 2023, is gearing up for its opening game against the 2023 Division I state runner-up, Springfield, on August 23rd. Hill's commitment to Alabama serves as a testament to his dedication and the remarkable potential he brings to the field.

While his decision to commit to Alabama is surely a cause for celebration, Hill remains grounded, acknowledging the significance of his post-college plans. With a strong support system behind him, Hill is poised to make a lasting impact both on and off the football field.
