### Will Ferrell Joins Celebrity Bandwagon in Support of Kamala Harris Amid Criticism

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell has lent his considerable star power to support Vice President Kamala Harris, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile celebrities to endorse her campaign. In a humorous yet pointed official campaign advertisement, Ferrell stresses the importance of each vote in the upcoming election, even as he jests and takes a controversial tone.

Ferrell opens the ad by underscoring the potentially historic tightness of the election, emphasizing to viewers that their vote truly matters. He humorously singles out a hypothetical voter named Gary, sarcastically mocking his perceived apathy and warning him not to underestimate the impact of his vote. "This election is going to be one of the closest in history. Your vote will make the difference," Ferrell declares, before adding with characteristic flair, "That means you, Gary."

Despite the comedic approach, Ferrell’s ad has drawn backlash on social media. Critics on platform X accused the actor of overstepping and urged him to stick to comedy. "Democrats have now resorted to physically threatening people to vote for Kamala. Will Ferrell should've stuck to comedy. This isn't funny at all," one user wrote. Another lamented, "Will Ferrell is making it REAL tough for me to watch Elf this season."

Ferrell is not alone in his celebrity endorsement for Harris. On Thursday, actors including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Danai Gurira, Don Cheadle, and Paul Bettany appeared in a video supporting Harris and Tim Walz. Posted on Ruffalo's X account, the video took a lighthearted approach, even suggesting a new catchphrase for Harris. Bettany quipped, "How about 'I'm down with democracy'? It's clean and simple," to which Cheadle added humorously, "Yeah, together we got to tear down democracy."

Beyond Hollywood, singer Beyoncé has also shown her support, introducing Harris at a rally in Houston, Texas.

As the election nears, polls indicate a neck-and-neck race in key battleground states. The latest New York Times/Siena College Battleground poll shows Trump leading in Arizona while Harris holds a narrow advantage in Georgia, North Carolina, Nevada, and Wisconsin. Michigan and Pennsylvania remain highly contested, with both candidates tied.

With the election just days away, the urging from celebrities seems part of a last-ditch effort to sway undecided voters and rally support in what is shaping up to be one of the closest races in recent history.
