A Virginia man from Winchester has been arrested and charged with multiple death threats against Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumed Democratic presidential nominee. Frank Carillo is accused of posting a series of violent threats about Harris on the conservative social media site GETTR using an alias, according to a criminal complaint unsealed in the Western District of Virginia. The threats reportedly included graphic descriptions of shooting, stabbing, and burning Harris alive.

Carillo made his initial appearance in federal court on Monday. He is currently being held in temporary detention, pending a court hearing scheduled for Thursday. The charges against him stem from 19 posts he allegedly made about Harris, where he expressed his intention to harm her physically.

In one particularly disturbing social media post dated July 27, shortly after Harris launched her presidential campaign, Carillo stated that if she were elected, he would "shoot and kill everyone" who tried to obstruct his efforts. Investigators noted that this threat came just two weeks after an assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

During the investigation, authorities executed a search at Carillo's residence and found two firearms. It was discovered that he had purchased a handgun last year and an RF-15 rifle earlier this year. The presence of these weapons raises concerns about the potential for Carillo to act on his threats.

The criminal complaint also revealed that Carillo made additional threatening comments, targeting Muslims and advocating for violence towards illegal immigrants who appeared to vote. He stated that Muslims should be shot, and any illegal immigrants he encountered would be killed. Such remarks have brought further attention to Carillo's dangerous mindset.

It remains unclear at this time whether Carillo has legal representation. A public defender listed for him did not provide immediate comment.
