Virginia police have made an arrest in connection with the disappearance of 28-year-old Mamta Kafte Bhatt, as her husband, Naresh Bhatt, has been charged with concealing a body. Mamta was last seen on July 27, according to the Manassas Park Police Department. Naresh Bhatt reported her missing on August 5, despite claiming to have last seen her on July 31.

During the investigation, police discovered that Naresh Bhatt had told WUSA that his wife had disappeared three times before, but never for such an extended period. Police initially classified Mamta's case as "involuntary" but have been working tirelessly to locate her. They executed a search warrant at the couple's home on Wednesday, which yielded additional evidence leading to the charges against Bhatt.

According to WUSA, Bhatt was taken into custody on Thursday, where he was seen being escorted out of his home in handcuffs. During a press conference, authorities revealed that Bhatt has been uncooperative with the investigation, raising further concerns about Mamta's whereabouts.

The couple's one-year-old daughter has been removed from their home and placed under the care of the Department of Social Services. Police have assured the public that she is safe and being looked after by a suitable caregiver.
