In a disturbing incident at Adventureland Amusement Park on Long Island, a verbal dispute between two families turned violent, resulting in one man being stabbed in the stomach. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon and sent shockwaves through the popular summer attraction in East Farmingdale.

According to law enforcement sources, Daniel Tomasky, a 42-year-old resident of Shirley, allegedly attacked his acquaintance, James Burns, 47, from Florida, with a knife. Burns was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently in serious condition, as reported by Suffolk County police.

The altercation, which unfolded in front of at least one child, escalated rapidly, leading to the violent stabbing incident. While specific details about the quarrel remain unclear, sources suggest that tensions between the two families reached a boiling point, igniting the tragic event.

Despite an immediate email sent to park officials, there was no immediate response. However, a spokesperson for Adventureland confirmed earlier that the violence erupted as a result of the confrontation between the families. The incident occurred despite the park's emphasis on safety and its reputation as a family-friendly destination.

Daniel Tomasky was taken into custody by authorities and has been charged with first-degree assault, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child, and other related charges, as stated by the police. He will remain in police custody overnight and is expected to face an arraignment in Central Islip on Monday.

Following several hours of investigative work at the crime scene, Adventureland resumed its operations as usual, according to the park spokesperson. The amusement park, which has been entertaining families since 1962, is open from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. during the summer months.

This violent incident has left visitors and residents deeply shaken. One witness, Jessie Hagelstein, expressed her sadness, remarking on the fact that families come to the amusement park with their children in search of a joyful experience. Adventureland's president and co-owner, Steven Gentile, has previously emphasized the importance of ensuring a safe environment for families to enjoy their time at the park.

As investigations into this shocking incident continue, authorities and park officials are grappling with how such a violent event unfolded in a place renowned for providing fun and entertainment to generations of families. The incident serves as a stark reminder that even in seemingly safe and wholesome environments, conflicts can escalate tragically, posing risks to innocent bystanders.
