**Vice President Kamala Harris Set to Deliver Pivotal Speech at The Ellipse Ahead of Election Day**

Preparations are in full swing at the Ellipse near the White House as Vice President Kamala Harris gears up to deliver a crucial speech on Tuesday. The event aims to make her final appeal to the American electorate, advocating for her bid to become the next President of the United States.

The rally, which is expected to draw a crowd of approximately 20,000 people, will take place on the Ellipse, bordered by E Street NW, Constitution Avenue NW, and 15th and 17th streets NW. Overflow areas have been designated at the northeast grounds of the Washington Monument to accommodate the substantial number of attendees. The initial permit accounted for 8,000 people, but the Harris-Walz campaign ramped up promotions on social media platforms, leading to a significant rise in expected participants.

Gates for the rally will open at 3 p.m., with the main program slated to begin around 7 p.m. and wrap up by 9 p.m. As with events of this magnitude, no parking zones and road closures are anticipated, though the Metropolitan Police Department has yet to detail the specific restrictions and detours.

Over the weekend, crews were busy setting up the Ellipse, installing fencing, protective flooring, and other essential infrastructure. The Ellipse, which hosts the National Christmas Tree, was also the venue of former President Donald Trump’s controversial Stop the Steal rally on January 6, 2021.

As Election Day approaches, Harris is in a statistical tie with Trump, according to recent polling. Joining Harris in her campaign efforts are her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, and influential surrogates including Michelle Obama, Liz Cheney, and Beyoncé, who are all encouraging voters to support the Democratic ticket.
