Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota are set to make an appearance in Milwaukee next Tuesday, coinciding with the Democratic National Convention taking place in nearby Chicago. The Harris campaign is reportedly considering holding a rally at Fiserv Forum, the same venue where former President Donald J. Trump accepted the Republican presidential nomination last month.

The planned rally would be part of a tour that saw Harris and Walz speaking to crowds exceeding 10,000 people at five stops in battleground states last week. The high energy and impressive turnout have caught the attention of former President Donald Trump, who has falsely claimed that the Harris crowds were fabricated.

The rally in Milwaukee would likely take place before former President Barack Obama's prime-time speech in Chicago, which is expected to be a significant highlight of the Democratic National Convention. Fiserv Forum, where the Harris-Walz rally would be held, is approximately 80 miles away from the United Center in Chicago, where Democrats will gather for their convention.

By holding a rally at Fiserv Forum, the Harris campaign aims to draw a direct comparison between themselves and the Trump-Vance ticket. It also serves as a testament to the Harris campaign's ability to manage two major events simultaneously in professional basketball arenas.

In addition to her upcoming rally with Governor Walz, Vice President Harris has a busy schedule ahead. On Thursday, she will join President Biden at an event in Maryland, marking her first public appearance with him since he withdrew from the race. Furthermore, Harris is set to deliver an economic policy address in North Carolina on Friday.

While it is common for presidential candidates to hold events away from the main convention location, this strategy has been employed by previous candidates such as Barack Obama in 2012 and Hillary Clinton in 2016. The Harris campaign has yet to comment on its upcoming schedule next week.

As the Democratic National Convention unfolds in Chicago, Vice President Harris's appearance in Milwaukee alongside Governor Walz adds an interesting dimension to the political landscape. The potential contrast between the two parties' conventions and the ability to draw large crowds will undoubtedly be a focal point of attention next week.
