The US Embassy has raised its travel advisory to level 4, advising all American citizens in Lebanon to depart the country via commercial flights while they are still operable. The escalation in warnings is a response to the increasing tensions between Hezbollah and Israel, as well as recent Israeli Air Force strikes in Beirut. The embassy cautioned that assistance for citizens staying behind and unable to depart may not be guaranteed.

Several other foreign governments, including France, the UK, and Canada, have issued similar advisories against travel to Lebanon. Their respective embassies have also alerted their citizens that in the event of an emergency, assistance may be limited due to the volatile situation in the region.

The US Embassy's decision to raise the travel advisory highlights the heightened risks associated with the current situation in Lebanon. American citizens are strongly urged to heed the warning and make arrangements to leave the country promptly. The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel has made the region increasingly unpredictable, prompting concerns for the safety of foreign nationals residing in Lebanon.
