A California teacher got a wild surprise as she was preparing her classroom for the new school year last week. Elaine Salmon, a teacher in Pine Mountain Club, stumbled upon an unexpected visitor - a young bear, who seemed very interested in the classroom's contents. Salmon managed to capture the whole incident on camera and sought assistance from her husband, Ian Sawrey, to deal with the curious intruder.
In the video footage, a juvenile bear can be seen sniffing around the room, seemingly in search of something delectable or perhaps a cozy spot for the upcoming school year. Salmon even speculated that her packed lunch might be the bear's target, exclaiming, "He's gonna eat through my lunchbox."
However, instead of finding a meal, the furry intruder reached the window through which Salmon and Sawrey were observing. Undeterred, the bear curiously pressed its paws and face against the glass. "He's not scared at all," commented Sawyer, as they watched the bear's bold behavior.
As the bear attempted to escape through a seemingly closed window, Salmon and Sawyer moved closer, attempting to shoo it away from the school. Ultimately, their efforts were successful as they managed to guide the bear out of the classroom through an open door. The young bear swiftly made its way into the nearby woods, passing by a children's playground.
Sawyer expressed his surprise at the bear's lack of fear, noting that they could clearly tell it was a younger bear. The incident left Salmon and Sawyer amazed by the encounter but relieved that it ended without any harm or damage caused.
With "Meet the Teacher Day" just around the corner, one can't help but wonder if the bear was a little early to the party this year. Nevertheless, this unexpected event will surely be a memorable start to the school year for both the teacher and her students.
