The attacks, which took place on Saturday, involved drones and missiles targeting energy facilities, resulting in at least 19 injuries.

Ukrenergo, Ukraine's state-owned power grid operator, confirmed that the shutdowns have impacted both industrial and household consumers. These measures are now in effect in all regions of Ukraine except for three. The sustained attacks on Ukraine's power grid in recent weeks have forced the government to resort to nationwide rolling blackouts.

The lack of adequate air defenses to counter these assaults and facilitate repairs pose a serious threat. These shortages may further escalate as the demand for electricity increases during the late summer and the harsh winter months.

Among the notable recent attacks were an April barrage that caused significant damage to Kyiv's largest thermal power plant, as well as a massive assault on May 8 that specifically targeted power generation and transmission facilities in multiple regions.

Providing some respite, the Ukrainian air force reported on Sunday that their air defense systems successfully shot down all 25 drones launched during the overnight attacks. However, Russia claimed that it had gained control over the village of Umanske in the partially Russian-occupied Donetsk region.

Russia's latest offensive has primarily focused on Ukraine's northeastern Kharkiv region, but it also appears to be testing Ukrainian defenses in Donetsk, further south. Additionally, incursions have been made in the northern Sumy and Chernihiv regions.

Meanwhile, in Russia, six people were injured due to shelling in the city of Shebekino, located in the Belgorod region along the Ukrainian border. The regional Governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, confirmed the unfortunate incident and also stated that a local official, the deputy head of the Korochansky district, had died due to the "detonation of ammunition." No further details were provided.

In the neighboring Kursk region, three individuals sustained injuries when an explosive device was dropped from a drone, according to Alexey Smirnov, the acting regional head.

The situation between Ukraine and Russia remains extremely volatile as both countries exchange attacks and engage in hostile activities. The impact on civilian populations and essential infrastructure continues to increase, raising concerns for the region's stability and the safety of its residents.
