In a press conference earlier this week, star Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill addressed the incident that occurred outside Hard Rock Stadium prior to the Dolphins' season opener. Hill acknowledged that he "could have been better" in handling the situation and expressed his desire to learn from it.

During the press conference, Hill emphasized the importance of accountability in his life and mentioned having family members who work as police officers. He admitted that in that particular moment, he could have complied by rolling down his window. However, Hill also expressed his reluctance to attract attention or have cameras present during that encounter.

While admitting his own shortcomings, Hill was quick to point out that the police officers had no right to use excessive force against him. He stated that he wished he could go back and handle things differently. Hill's reflection on the incident comes after bodycam footage showing the encounter was released on Monday.

The incident occurred when Hill was pulled over on his way to the Dolphins' Week 1 game against the Jaguars. In the footage, officers tapped on Hill's window, prompting him to respond with frustration. Hill was then asked to leave his vehicle, and as one officer opened the car door, he was forcefully pulled from his seat and handcuffed on the ground.

Miami-Dade police have confirmed that the incident is under immediate review, and officer Danny Torres, a 27-year veteran, has been placed on administrative duties as a result. The Dolphins organization also issued a statement on Monday condemning the officers' use of excessive force and expressing their gratitude that the situation did not escalate further.

In response to the incident, Hill's attorney released a statement demanding Torres' termination, citing excessive and reckless use of force by the officer.

As the Dolphins prepare to host the Bills on Thursday night, Hill's detainment incident looms over the team. The incident has sparked conversations surrounding police conduct and accountability, shedding light on the need for ongoing reform and dialogue.

The Dolphins-Bills game is set to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET, where a highly anticipated matchup awaits amidst the backdrop of the ongoing investigation into Tyreek Hill's detainment.
