Two Separate Shootings Under Investigation in Albuquerque

Two separate incidents of gun violence occurred in Albuquerque on Saturday morning, resulting in two homicide investigations. According to a spokesperson for the Albuquerque Police Department, the first shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. on the 500 block of San Pedro Drive N.E.

Upon receiving a call, officers responded to the scene and discovered a man with at least one gunshot wound. Tragically, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding the shooting are currently under investigation.

A few hours later, at approximately 3 a.m., several gunshots were heard in downtown Albuquerque near the 600 block of Copper Avenue N.W. Law enforcement officers promptly arrived at the location and found a male victim who had sustained fatal injuries. Unfortunately, he did not survive.

Both incidents are being treated as separate homicide cases and are currently under active investigation. The Albuquerque Police Department is urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist in the investigations.
