The attorney, Alex Spiro, known for recently defending Alec Baldwin against involuntary manslaughter charges, disclosed to Court TV his engagement in this high-stakes investigation.

Combs is currently embroiled in a plethora of legal troubles, including allegations of sexual assault, rape, and human trafficking in multiple lawsuits. Federal authorities are also involved, with a three-count indictment accusing Combs of kidnapping and trafficking women.

In 1996, Shakur met a tragic end in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, a crime that remained unsolved until the 2023 arrest of Duane "Keffe D" Davis. Although Davis is the only individual charged, he has implicated Combs in the planning of the murder. Additionally, a detective who testified before the grand jury claimed that Marion "Suge" Knight Jr., who survived the same shooting, suggested that Combs had a role—whether directly or indirectly—in orchestrating the attack.

In recent developments, Eminem, also known as Marshall Mathers, echoed these accusations through his music. In his latest track "Fuel," Eminem alludes to a connection between the murders of Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac, insinuating Combs' involvement. This isn't the first such claim from Eminem; he made a similar assertion in his 2018 song "Killshot."

Despite the mounting allegations, Combs has consistently denied any participation in Shakur's murder. According to a statement from a spokesperson for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department provided to People, Combs has never been formally considered a suspect in the homicide investigation.

The Shakur family’s decision to employ Spiro and a team of investigators aims to uncover any truths about Combs' possible links to Tupac's killing.
