**Trump Begins Shaping Cabinet with Select Key Picks**
Following his recent election victory, President-elect Trump has embarked on the intricate process of forming his Cabinet. Dozens of contenders are vying for roughly two dozen top-tier government positions. To date, only three of his selections have been officially confirmed, though others have surfaced through media leaks. Below is a summary of notable individuals who will join Trump's Cabinet.
Susie Wiles, lauded for her leadership in Trump's campaign operations in Florida in both 2016 and 2020, has been named the first-ever female Chief of Staff. Having maintained close ties with Trump during the Biden administration, Wiles served as CEO of Trump's Save America PAC in 2021. Trump praised her toughness, intelligence, and innovative spirit, saying, "Susie will continue to work tirelessly to Make America Great Again. It is a well-deserved honor to have Susie as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in United States history."
Another significant appointment is the New York Republican representative, who currently chairs the House GOP Conference. Known for her aggressive stance in Congress, she has been a fierce advocate for Trump and a staunch supporter of Israel. She gained attention for her confrontational questioning of Ivy League university presidents over their handling of anti-Israel protests, actions that indirectly led to several resignations.
On Tuesday, Trump revealed his national security adviser pick: a Florida Republican representative and former Army Green Beret. Notably hawkish on China and Iran, he retired as a Colonel and is a recognized leader in national security. Trump extolled his virtues, calling him "a strong champion of my America First Foreign Policy agenda" and anticipates his "tremendous impact on our pursuit of Peace through Strength."
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, an ardent supporter of Israel motivated by his evangelical beliefs, also joins the team. Trump noted his steadfast commitment to the Middle East, stating, "Mike will work tirelessly to bring about Peace in the Middle East!"
Trump has reportedly chosen Florida Senator Marco Rubio, a noted critic of Iran and China, to head the State Department. Despite their heated exchanges during the 2016 presidential primaries, the two seem to have reconciled. Rubio was even considered for the vice-presidential spot earlier this year.
Tom Homan, former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, will oversee border security at a "czar" level. Known for crafting the contentious zero-tolerance policy during Trump’s first administration, which resulted in family separations at the border, Homan has extensive experience across six administrations. Trump expressed confidence in Homan's abilities, stating, "Tom Homan will be in charge of all Deportation of Illegal Aliens back to their Country of Origin. Congratulations to Tom. I have no doubt he will do a fantastic, and long-awaited, job."
As Trump continues to assemble his Cabinet, further appointments are anticipated, shaping the future direction of his administration.
