### Trump to Lift Arms Embargo on Israel Following Ceasefire Agreement

Associates of US President-elect Donald Trump have assured Israel that he will remove any delays or embargoes on arms shipments to Israel immediately after his inauguration, as reported by Channel 12 News. This promise is set to be fulfilled on Trump’s first day in office.

Diplomatic sources have suggested a connection between this commitment and Israel's apparent agreement to a ceasefire in Lebanon. The understanding is that if Israel agrees to a two-month ceasefire, the Trump administration will quickly eliminate any obstacles, allowing the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to operate more freely.

Earlier this week, The Washington Post disclosed that Ron Dermer, Israel's Strategic Affairs Minister and a close confidant of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, informed President-elect Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, about Israel’s efforts to finalize a ceasefire deal with Lebanon. This initiative is perceived as an early foreign policy victory for Trump.

As per Israeli officials, the ceasefire deal would necessitate Hezbollah’s retreat beyond the Litani River. During the initial 60-day period, the Lebanese military would control the border zone, with monitoring by the United States and Britain. Additionally, the agreement would allow the IDF to operate across the border if there are any violations.

In related developments, reports emerged of explosions at a US base in Syria, further underscoring the tense regional dynamics as the ceasefire negotiations continue.
