**Trump's Call with Zelensky Featuring Elon Musk Raises Eyebrows**
In a recent development, CNN political analyst and The New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman shed light on President-elect Trump's decision to include billionaire Elon Musk in his phone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. According to Haberman, this move by Trump appears to be aimed at impressing Zelensky and establishing a show of dominance.
“I think it is a trust thing. I also just think it is that Trump likes to impress other people, and Elon Musk is the richest man in the world, and that's one way of showing off for Zelensky," Haberman expressed during an interview with CNN's Kaitlan Collins. She suggested that the inclusion of Musk could be interpreted as a show of strength and influence.
Haberman further pointed out the potential significance of this action by referencing reports from The Wall Street Journal about alleged contact between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Musk. She speculated that these reports might have played a role in Trump's decision. "There has been a lot of reporting about that in The Wall Street Journal, and I don't think that that is completely out of Donald Trump's head when he is doing this," she noted.
The call between Trump and Zelensky has garnered considerable interest, particularly due to Musk's various ties to government contracts and approvals. Haberman highlighted that these connections are anticipated to form part of a larger discourse in the upcoming months. Musk's presence in governmental circles and his frequent appearances at Mar-a-Lago suggest he could wield substantial influence during Trump's term.
Following Trump's victory, Zelensky described their conversation as productive and optimistic, emphasizing the mutual benefits of a strong America and Europe. "It was a productive conversation, a good conversation,” Zelensky stated. He conveyed hope that Trump's actions would lead to a stronger America, which in turn, would support European stability.
Addressing Musk's potential influence in Trump's administration, Haberman acknowledged that while Musk might not impact every decision, his presence and connections in the government are likely to leave a mark. "I do think that he will be influential. Does it mean he is going to influence every single thing? No. But he is certainly going to leave his imprint, even if he never actually formally joins the government," she concluded.
As Trump's term approaches, the dynamics between these influential figures are expected to develop, drawing significant public and political attention.
