**Trudeau Condemns India for Violating Canadian Sovereignty**

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has strongly criticized the Indian government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing it of threatening the safety of South Asians in Canada. Trudeau's denunciation came during the second day of a public inquiry into foreign interference, amid rising tensions between the two nations.

Over recent days, Canada and India have expelled each other's diplomats following allegations from Ottawa accusing Indian agents of committing significant crimes on Canadian soil. According to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, ongoing investigations have revealed serious criminal activities attributed to individuals associated with the Indian government, including involvement in homicides and extortion.

A notable incident fueling the accusations is the June 18, 2023 assassination of Khalistan supporter Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada, which Trudeau claims was orchestrated by India. Addressing the inquiry, Trudeau asserted that, "The Indian government made a horrific mistake in thinking that they could interfere as aggressively as they did in the safety and sovereignty of Canada and we need to respond in order to ensure Canadians are safe."

In response, the Indian government has firmly denied these allegations. Following Trudeau’s remarks, Shri Randhir Jaiswal, a spokesman for New Delhi's foreign ministry, stated that Ottawa has failed to provide any substantive evidence backing its claims. Jaiswal stressed that the responsibility for deteriorating relations between the two countries rests squarely with Prime Minister Trudeau.

As diplomatic friction escalates, international voices from the U.S. and Britain are urging cooperation to resolve the ongoing dispute.
