**Susie Wiles: Trump's New White House Chief of Staff**

Susie Wiles, a seasoned political strategist from Florida, has been appointed President-elect Donald Trump's incoming White House chief of staff, transitioning from her previous role as campaign co-chair to the president's top adviser. Wiles, who is well-respected in political circles, is set to become the first woman to hold this influential position.

Wiles brings decades of political experience, primarily in Florida. She is the daughter of NFL player and sportscaster Pat Summerall and began her political career in the 1970s with Rep. Jack Kemp in Washington. She later worked on Ronald Reagan’s campaign and served in his White House. Moving to Florida, Wiles advised two Jacksonville mayors and worked for Rep. Tillie Fowler. She is also credited with helping Rick Scott secure the governor’s office.

Wiles has a historical connection with Ron DeSantis, having played a pivotal role in his gubernatorial victory. However, their relationship soured, leading DeSantis to urge Trump’s 2020 campaign to distance itself from her. Despite this, Wiles continued to lead Trump’s state campaign and later his primary campaign against DeSantis, leveraging insider knowledge from her previous work with him.

Even though Wiles generally keeps out of the spotlight, she doesn’t shy away from the occasional public display. For instance, she made a rare social media post just before DeSantis exited the presidential race, succinctly bidding him "Bye, bye."

Wiles has been a key figure in Trump's campaigns, known for her ability to handle tasks both large and small. From quietly managing operations behind the scenes to grabbing a clipboard and collecting caucus commitments at events, Wiles’s hands-on approach is notable. Her colleague Chris LaCivita highlighted her willingness to perform even the mundane tasks, citing her as the person who would pick up and throw away trash after meetings.

Her skill in managing Trump’s tendencies without confrontation, but through respect and persuasion, has earned her commendations from Trump himself, who praised her leadership as the best he has seen.

As Trump steps into his new term, Wiles’s appointment as chief of staff will be crucial in navigating the administration’s agenda. Trump, who has expressed regret over some of his personnel choices during his first term, seems confident in Wiles’s proven track record, marking her as one of the “best people” he trusts to fulfill this vital role.
