Tragic Wrong-Way Crash Claims Life of Mason High School Junior

In a devastating incident early Thursday morning, a teenager lost their life in a wrong-way crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-71 in Deerfield Township. Police have swiftly identified the victim as Chad Samuel Case, a 17-year-old from Mason.
According to officials, the fatal crash occurred at 1:39 a.m. when a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Chad Case, was traveling the wrong way on I-71 in both northbound and southbound lanes. Simultaneously, a tractor-trailer was heading south on I-71. The two vehicles collided head-on, forcing them off the southeast side of the roadway. Due to the impact, the tractor-trailer overturned.
