**Six Dead, Five Injured in Bar Shooting in Southeast Mexico**

In the early hours of Sunday, a bar in southeast Mexico became the site of a tragic shooting, leaving six people dead and at least five others injured. The attack took place in Villahermosa, a city in the coastal province of Tabasco, which has recently seen a surge in violent incidents.

Public Safety Secretary Omar García Harfuch announced on X that federal authorities are collaborating with local officials to investigate the incident. According to state deputy prosecutor Gilberto Melquiades, the assailants, referred to as "armed persons," entered the establishment with the intention of targeting a specific individual. However, the gunfire struck those who were nearby, causing multiple casualties. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made, and the motives behind the shooting remain unclear.

Videos circulating on social media capture the chaotic scene as patrons fled the bar, while some survivors stayed back to assist the victims until police arrived. This incident adds to the growing tally of violence in Mexico, with more than 450,000 people having lost their lives since 2006, much of it linked to drug trafficking and gang activities.

This tragic event in Tabasco follows closely on the heels of another brutal attack earlier this month. In central Mexico, specifically in the historic city center of Querétaro, gunmen opened fire in a bar, resulting in ten fatalities and injuring thirteen others. The region had previously been considered relatively safe compared to neighboring states like Guerrero.
