Deputy Hunter Reedy Fatally Shot in Smyth County Incident

In a tragic turn of events, Deputy Hunter Reedy, a 27-year-old father of three, lost his life in a shooting incident that took place on Friday in Smyth County. Virginia State Police have identified Reedy as the deputy who was fatally shot during a traffic stop. Another deputy, who was also shot, is currently recovering in the hospital from minor injuries.

According to Virginia State Police, the incident unfolded when Marion Police initiated a traffic stop on Route 16.
