Fatal Shooting Leaves Two Dead and One Injured in Louisville's Original Highlands Neighborhood

In a tragic incident early Sunday morning, two men lost their lives and another was left injured following a shooting in the Original Highlands neighborhood of Louisville. The incident occurred at around 1:45 a.m. when authorities received a report of gunshots in the 900 block of Baxter Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a man who had been shot and tragically declared him dead due to the severity of his gunshot wounds, according to Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) spokesperson John Bradley. Another male victim, who had also been shot, was rushed to the University of Louisville Hospital by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Despite the efforts of medical personnel to save his life, the man was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

A third individual injured in the shooting managed to transport themselves to Norton Women and Children's Hospital, although it is unclear how they acquired their injuries. Fortunately, LMPD spokesperson John Bradley mentioned that this particular victim is expected to survive.

As of now, there are no known suspects in connection with the shooting, and the investigation has been handed over to LMPD's homicide unit.
