**Newlywed Groom Fatally Shot in Front of Bride and Daughter in North Carolina**
In a tragic turn of events, a groom in North Carolina was fatally shot just hours after celebrating his wedding ceremony. Tyrek Burton, 37, had married Kiara Holloway on October 12 at the Barber Park Events Center in Greensboro. What was meant to be a joyous occasion was cut short when, just before 9 p.m., Greensboro police responded to a report of a shooting.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Burton wounded in the parking area. Despite efforts to save his life, Burton succumbed to his injuries that night. According to Burton's sister, Brittany Burton, someone had followed Tyrek into the parking lot, claiming he was involved in a traffic incident, before opening fire. She shared that her brother had been shot multiple times in the chest, right where the wedding had taken place.
The grief-stricken family is calling for justice. Carolyn Burton, Tyrek's mother, implored anyone with information to come forward. "We need help. If anybody knows anything, speak up. Cause if he's still out there, you could be next. Somebody that's so cold that they have to gun down a man in front of a woman in a wedding dress, a child, a teenager, he needs to be put away," she said. She expressed her frustration and heartache, demanding justice for her son, who waited 13 years to marry his bride only to have his life brutally taken on their wedding day.
Kiara Holloway, still reeling from the loss, shared her anguish with WRAL, asking, "Why on the wedding day? Why him? Just why, why, why?" She remembered Burton as a great man who loved spending time with his family and working hard to support them.
An online fundraiser has been established to support the Burton family during this difficult time.
