### Teen Charged in Deadly School Shooting Incident as Father Faces Related Charges

In a chilling incident on the morning of September 4th, 14-year-old Colt Gray allegedly concealed a long gun in what appeared to be a school project during his bus ride to Apalachee High School in Georgia, evidence from surveillance footage revealed. State agent testimony in a Barrow County courtroom on Wednesday provided new insights into the tragic events of that day.

Colt Gray is accused of a shooting rampage that resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including two students and two teachers, while also injuring several others. According to a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agent who reviewed the surveillance video, Gray concealed the AR-15-style rifle within a poster board that he carried into the school.

The agent recounted that Gray left a notebook on his desk in math class before heading to the bathroom with his backpack. Upon emerging from the bathroom, Gray was seen wearing gloves and still carrying the poster board, concealing the weapon. Attempting to re-enter his math class, Gray knocked on the door. A classmate spotted him through the door's window and raised an alarm to the teacher, who then prompted the students to initiate a lockdown procedure.

Ignoring the lockdown, Colt Gray allegedly entered a different classroom where he began firing, indiscriminately hitting six or seven people in a brief span of approximately seven seconds. The agent noted that Gray then ran toward the bathrooms, where he aimed and fired multiple shots at a teacher at 10:22 a.m., later turning down another hallway to shoot two coaches. Tragically, a student exiting a bathroom was also shot and killed.

School resource officers who arrived on the scene encountered Colt Gray in the hallway. They ordered him to surrender, which eventually led to his arrest on murder charges.

The notebook Gray left on his desk contained meticulously detailed plans for the shooting, including casualty estimates and classroom sketches, the agent said.

In addition to the charges against Colt Gray, his father, Colin Gray, faces significant legal repercussions. Colin Gray has been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder, and eight counts of cruelty to children. The elder Gray is accused of knowingly allowing his son to possess the weapon used in the horrific school shooting.
