The investigation has officially commenced into a devastating house fire that occurred in Newnan, Coweta County on Monday morning, resulting in the tragic deaths of six individuals who appear to be from the same extended family.

According to officials, the fire broke out in a residence located in the 1300 block of Macedonia Road near Roscoe Road. Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency call, dispatched at 4:48 a.m., and managed to arrive at the scene within 10 minutes.

Upon their arrival, firefighters encountered a fully engulfed home and found five individuals outside the building. They were informed that six people remained trapped inside, prompting immediate entry by the firefighters in an attempt to rescue them.

Despite their best efforts, the rescue operation proved unsuccessful, and all six individuals were pronounced dead at the scene. The fire department chief revealed that the victims ranged in age from young to much older, but did not provide further details.
