In a harrowing incident in southwest Oklahoma City, a 10-year-old boy woke up to a horrific scene, finding his parents and three brothers dead inside their home. The authorities have determined that all five family members were fatally shot by the boy's father, identified as Jonathan Candy.

Sergeant Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police described the scene as "carnage" and emphasized that the incident can only be described as a "massacre." The victims have been identified as Jonathan Candy's wife, Lindsay Candy, their sons Dylan Candy (18), Ethan Candy (14), and Lucas Candy (12).

According to investigators, the tragic events unfolded after an argument between the parents late Sunday night or early Monday morning. Jonathan Candy allegedly armed himself with a gun and fatally shot his wife multiple times before systematically targeting and killing his three children.

The motive behind the shootings remains unclear, and there is no information indicating why the fourth child was spared. Police confirmed that there had been no prior contact with the family and no history of domestic violence.

After discovering the gruesome scene, the 10-year-old boy quickly called 911 to report the incident. Remarkably, he was physically unharmed, despite sleeping through the sound of the gunfire. Police believe the closed door of his room and a running box fan may have masked the noise, supporting the child's claims.

The young boy has been placed in the care of relatives, as investigators continue to piece together the details surrounding the tragedy. Authorities express their deepest condolences to the family and assure the community that they will do everything in their power to uncover the reasons behind this devastating act.

The Oklahoma City Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they work to provide answers to the shattered community. As the investigation progresses, counseling and support services will be made available to those affected by this heart-wrenching tragedy.
