Tragic House Fire Claims Lives of Six Family Members in Wisconsin

In a devastating incident that has left a community in mourning, authorities have identified the victims of a house fire that occurred in Necedah, Wisconsin, claiming the lives of six family members. The Juneau County Sheriff's Office, in a news release on Tuesday, revealed that the victims were a former pastor, two of his daughters, and three of his granddaughters.

The victims have been identified as 66-year-old Steven Witte, 38-year-old Charis Kuehl, and 35-year-old Lydia Witte. Although the names of the three children - aged 2, 5, and 8 - who also perished in the blaze have not been released, their tragic loss has deeply impacted the close-knit community.

According to reports, the fire erupted in the early hours of Sunday morning while the family was gathering at their residence. The flames spread quickly, leaving little time for anyone to escape the inferno.

The Rev. Larry Schlomer, WELS World Missions Administrator, expressed his condolences, stating, "It was such a tremendous loss, that many deaths within the same family." The news has left the community stunned and grieving as they come to terms with this tragic event.

While investigations are still underway, the state fire marshal's office is assisting in determining the cause of the fire. However, the initial findings suggest that the fire was accidental, the result of an unfortunate mishap.
