### Explosion at Palm Springs Building Leaves One Dead and Multiple Injured
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. - A tragic explosion rocked a Palm Springs building on Saturday morning, leaving one person dead and multiple individuals injured, according to city officials. The incident took place around 11 a.m. at the American Reproductive Centers on North Indian Canyon, near East Tachevah Drive.
Palm Springs Police Chief Andy Mills verified that the explosion was an intentional act of violence. In his statement, Mills noted that the blast site spanned several blocks, causing considerable damage to surrounding buildings. Authorities including Assistant Director Davis of the FBI are now on the scene to determine who will lead the investigation.
Chief Mills urged residents to leave any potential evidence undisturbed and to call the non-emergency number for collection by agents or officers. Safety remains the top priority for the authorities as they work to control the scene.
Dr. Maher Abdallah, who oversees the American Reproductive Centers, expressed relief that no clinic employees were harmed and that the lab remains secure. Abdallah mentioned that the explosion originated from a vehicle in the facility’s parking lot.
Following the incident, U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli confirmed that the FBI is thoroughly investigating whether this was an intentional act and promised to release more information once details are confirmed. The FBI has deployed bomb technicians, investigators, and an evidence response team to the location.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has also dispatched personnel to assist in the investigation. Nicole Lozano, an ATF spokeswoman, emphasized that no definitive information is available yet and discouraged speculation until agents could gather more details.
The explosion's impact was felt throughout the area, with damages reported at nearby buildings including Desert Regional Medical Center, Denny's, and Palm Springs Liquor. The Desert Regional Medical Center remains fully operational but has temporarily restricted visitor access due to the investigation.
Governor Gavin Newsom has been briefed on the explosion and confirmed that state agencies are coordinating with local and federal authorities to support the ongoing response.
As the investigation continues, residents are advised to steer clear of the affected zone to facilitate the work of emergency crews. News Channel 3 remains on location to provide further updates as more information becomes available.
