In a devastating incident on Thursday morning, a woman lost her life after being struck by a Horry County Police Ford Ranger Pickup truck while on the beach in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The incident occurred near the Nash Street beach access area close to the Springmaid Pier around 1:05 p.m., according to a report by Fox Carolina.

Eyewitness footage and images obtained by the news outlet depict numerous beachgoers gathered around the front of the truck, frantically attempting to help the woman who was pinned underneath one of the vehicle's wheels. One witness, Amanda Bilodeau, described the piercing screams of the victim, prompting a swift response from everyone on the beach.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) has taken over the investigation into the tragic accident, as confirmed in a Facebook post by the Horry County Police Department. SCHP revealed that the truck was exiting the beach access ramp when the collision occurred.

Dennis Miller, another bystander, recounted the efforts made by beachgoers to rescue the trapped woman. Despite their best attempts, the weight of the vehicle proved to be too much. "She was pinned underneath the vehicle, so a bunch of men, we came over, we did our best to lift the car up off her," Miller shared.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time until her family has been notified. The woman was rushed to Grand Strand Medical Center, where tragically, she succumbed to her injuries.
