**Tom Selleck Expresses Frustration over CBS Decision to Cancel 'Blue Bloods'**

Tom Selleck has voiced his displeasure with CBS's decision to end the popular television series 'Blue Bloods.' Despite the show's immense success and strong viewership, CBS confirmed that the series will conclude this fall. This decision was contrary to the wishes of the cast members, who were not ready for the show to end.

In an interview with TV Insider, Selleck shared his feelings, saying that he's "kind of frustrated" about the situation. He noted, "During those last eight shows, I haven't wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful." Selleck highlighted the show's impressive performance, emphasizing that it ranked ninth in total viewers for the 2023-2024 season and sixth when excluding football-related programming.

Selleck went on to express his disappointment, stating, "I'm not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, 'Get off my lawn!' I don't believe in holding grudges." He pointed out that any television network would find it unbelievable to have a program that consistently secured top ratings in a less favorable time slot for 15 years. According to Selleck, "My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go."

Reflecting on the end of 'Blue Bloods,' Selleck admitted that coming to terms with the conclusion of the series will take time. He recounted a poignant moment after filming the final episode, saying, "I remember after the weekend [of the final episode's shoot], I said, 'I've got to get to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.' Well, there was no Monday. It's just going to take a while."

The final episodes of 'Blue Bloods' are set to begin airing on Friday, October 18, marking the end of an era for the beloved series. Fans and cast members alike will bid farewell to a show that has been a staple of Friday night television for many years.
