A quiet Vermont town is reeling after a horrifying incident that left three individuals dead in their home over the weekend. Vermont State Police have identified the victims as Brian Crossman, 46, a selectboard member in Pawlet; his wife Erica Crossman, 41; and Erica's son, Colin Taft, 13. The small town of Pawlet, home to approximately 1,400 people, is located near the New York state border.

According to a news release by the Vermont State Police, the gruesome discovery was made on Sunday, but the identities of the victims were not released until Tuesday. All three deaths have been ruled as homicides. As of now, the investigation is still ongoing, and no arrests have been made. However, sources claim that law enforcement has identified a person of interest, who is said to be a relative of the victims.

Autopsies conducted by the authorities revealed that Brian Crossman suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head and torso. Erica Crossman succumbed to a gunshot wound to the head, while Colin Taft's cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds.

The Pawlet selectboard, responsible for overseeing town affairs, held their scheduled meeting on Tuesday evening. Brian Crossman's absence was deeply felt by his colleagues, who left flowers at his place at the table. Mike Beecher, the chairperson of the selectboard, paid tribute to Crossman, describing him as a hardworking community member and expressing the town's grief over the tragic loss. The entire community is now grappling with the devastating impact of this incident.

Neighbors expressed shock and disbelief at the news, struggling to comprehend the tragedy that occurred in their peaceful community. Oliver Ihasz, a next-door neighbor, revealed that he had visited the family just three nights before their deaths, making it even more difficult to process the gravity of the situation.

Reports indicate that Brian and Erica Crossman had recently tied the knot in June of this year. The incident has left friends, neighbors, and the community as a whole in mourning, as they come to terms with the horrific loss of three lives.

As the investigation into this tragic event continues, the people of Pawlet are united in their support for the affected families and their desire for justice to be served. The community is left grappling with the shock and grief brought on by this senseless act of violence, as they come together to offer solace and support during this difficult time.
