Texas A&M has landed a major recruiting victory by securing a commitment from highly sought-after quarterback prospect Husan Longstreet from Corona Centennial High School in California. The 6-foot-0.5, 185-pound Longstreet, ranked as the nation's No. 6 quarterback and No. 51 prospect overall according to the On3 Industry Ranking, chose the Aggies over Auburn, Oregon, Ole Miss, and several other schools.

Longstreet's decision came down to the wire, with the final hours playing a pivotal role in his selection. According to Longstreet's father Kevin, his son was drawn to the strong bond he built with Texas A&M's Coach Klein and Coach Elko. "The relationship he built with Coach Klein and Coach Elko was unbelievable," said Kevin Longstreet. "He said they love ball and are passionate about football, and that drove him to A&M."

The size and vibrant environment of College Station also played a significant factor in Longstreet's decision. "It was also a larger city and larger town, and he felt that was more him," added Kevin Longstreet.

Husan Longstreet visited Texas A&M twice, first in early February and again at the end of March. His family is equally excited about the opportunity and expressed their admiration for the leadership of Coach Elko. "Coach Elko is amazing," said Longstreet. "His leadership is evident, and you can see what he's trying to do with the program by talking to the players there. Coach Klein's offense excites Husan as he incorporates various styles and strategies, including pro-style, air-raid, and fast-paced approaches."

Longstreet's commitment to Texas A&M marks the seventh recruit for Coach Elko and his staff in the 2025 cycle and solidifies Longstreet as the top quarterback prospect on their radar. The Aggies' coaching staff, led by Coach Klein, played a significant role in persuading Longstreet to join their program.

As a junior, Husan Longstreet showcased his exceptional talent on the field, throwing for 3,013 yards and 24 touchdowns while also gaining 645 yards rushing with seven additional scores.

Texas A&M shows no signs of slowing down in their pursuit of top talent, and with Husan Longstreet's commitment, the Aggies have secured a promising addition to their roster. The football landscape eagerly awaits the arrival of Longstreet, who is expected to make a significant impact for Texas A&M in the future seasons.
