### Tennessee Basketball Triumphs: Clinches Baha Mar Championship with Dominant Win Over Baylor

Tennessee basketball has continued its impressive run by improving to a 6-0 record this season. The team's latest victory came on Friday night with a formidable 77-62 win against Baylor, securing the Baha Mar Championship. Chaz Lanier was particularly outstanding, hitting five three-pointers within the first four minutes, which helped the Vols build a significant lead early in the game. Despite Baylor's efforts in the second half, Tennessee maintained control and sealed their victory.

Head coach Rick Barnes praised the defensive efforts of the senior players and highlighted the support from the fanbase. Barnes noted the team's strong mental preparation and credited the coaching staff for their diligent scouting and game planning, which included reviewing games from both this season and the last. He expressed pride in the players' ability to absorb complex strategies and emphasized the importance of not becoming complacent despite the early success.

Lanier, who delivered a remarkable performance with 25 points, also reflected on the game. He acknowledged the initial jitters but said they disappeared after his first shot went in. Lanier credited his teammates for setting him up throughout the game and admitted that Baylor's defense became more challenging in the second half, which opened up opportunities for his teammates.

Lanier was named the Tournament MVP, while his teammate Jahmai Mashack earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. Lanier praised Mashack's defensive toughness and shared that playing against him over the summer was extremely challenging. Lanier’s decision to join Tennessee was partly motivated by a desire to improve his defense under Coach Barnes' guidance.

Reflecting further, Lanier appreciated the support from family and fans, particularly noting his Nashville roots. He discussed the rigorous preparation for the quick turnaround against Baylor and the unique pressure defense deployed by Tennessee. He also highlighted the impact of Darlinstone Dubar, a newcomer whose effort and toughness have already made a notable difference in practice and games.

Lanier concluded by expressing sympathy for opponents facing Tennessee's relentless defense and acknowledged the team's well-rounded nature and aggressive transition play. He looked forward to some relaxation, possibly jet skiing, before the team departs on Saturday.
