**Teen Arrested After Five Family Members Found Dead in Washington Home**

Tragedy struck Fall City, Washington, on Monday as law enforcement officials arrested a 15-year-old boy following the discovery of five family members dead inside a home. Responding to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots, King County Sheriff's deputies found two adults and three children deceased in what they described as a "domestic violence situation."

The victims have been identified as Mark and Sarah Humiston and their three children. Mark worked as an electrical engineer while Sarah was a former registered nurse. The couple's children were reportedly "young teenagers," according to Mike Mellis, a deputy and spokesperson for the sheriff's office.

In addition to the fatalities, another child, a girl, was injured in the incident. She was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and was in "satisfactory" condition as of Tuesday, according to a hospital spokesperson.

"This appears to be a family incident involving firearms and a young man who is now in significant trouble," Mellis stated during a press conference on Monday. He noted that there was no notable confrontation during the arrest of the suspect. The incident adds to the alarming statistic of at least 427 mass shootings in the United States this year.

The suspect, who has waived his presence at his initial juvenile court hearing, has not yet been formally charged. Prosecutors await the case referral from law enforcement. His public defense attorneys, Amy Parker and Molly Campera, described their client as a typical teenage boy who enjoys mountain biking and fishing and has no prior criminal history.

In a neighborhood still reeling from the shock, resident Lynne Trowern expressed her profound grief. "I keep bursting into tears," she told KING5. "I can't be here on my own; I just keep seeing the faces of the children."

This heartbreaking event has left a lasting impact on the community of Fall City, which lies about 25 miles outside of Seattle.
