Two-time Super Bowl champion linebacker Shaquil Barrett has officially announced his retirement from professional football after a successful nine-year career in the NFL. The 31-year-old shared the news on social media, stating that it was time for him to "hang it up" and shift his focus towards his family.
Barrett, who recently signed with the Miami Dolphins, made the decision to retire a few days before the start of the team's training camp. Despite suffering a torn Achilles in the following season, Barrett showcased his resilience by returning to the field in 2023.
