In a recent meeting held in Istanbul, Russia handed Ukraine a "peace memo" outlining its conditions for a ceasefire and peace agreement. Despite the presentation of this memo, a Ukrainian official conveyed that Russia's stance remains largely unaltered.

The importance of these talks is underscored by their timing, occurring just one day after Ukraine successfully executed a drone attack within Russian territory. This second round of peace negotiations concluded after roughly an hour, with no significant breakthroughs apart from a mutual agreement to proceed with another prisoner exchange.

Andryi Yermak, chief of staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, disclosed that Ukraine had provided Russia with a list of Ukrainian children they wish to see returned. This gesture was part of Ukraine's broader set of proposals submitted over the weekend, which included suggestions for confidence-building measures and clearly defined boundaries concerning Ukrainian sovereignty.

An aid to the Ukrainian delegation suggested the possibility of a summit involving top leaders before the end of June. However, Russian President Vladimir Putin has not yet agreed to a direct meeting with President Zelensky.
