SpaceX is gearing up for another launch from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, as they prepare for the Starlink 6-52 mission. This mission aims to add 23 new satellites to the ever-expanding low Earth orbit constellation.
Scheduled for liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at 6:40 p.m. EDT (2240 UTC), the 45th Weather Squadron has forecasted a favorable 90 percent chance of conditions suitable for launch. For those who wish to follow the mission closely, Spaceflight Now will have live coverage starting one hour prior to liftoff.
The Falcon 9 first stage booster assigned to this mission, known as tail number B1080, will make its impressive seventh flight. Previously, this booster has played a role in multiple missions, including the Ax-2 and Ax-3 private astronaut missions on behalf of Axiom Space, as well as launching the Euclid observatory for the European Space Agency.
After liftoff, B1080 is expected to touch down on the SpaceX droneship, fondly named 'A Shortfall of Gravitas,' approximately eight minutes later. This successful landing will mark the 66th landing on the droneship and the 299th landing overall for Falcon boosters.
This final Falcon 9 mission of the week is yet another achievement for SpaceX, highlighting their commitment to expanding and enhancing the Starlink network. With the addition of these 23 satellites, the growing low Earth orbit constellation is getting closer to its goal of providing global internet coverage.
As SpaceX continues to push the boundaries of space exploration and satellite deployment, they are solidifying their position as leaders in the commercial space industry. The success of this mission will bring them one step closer to revolutionizing global connectivity and shaping the future of space technology.
