In a significant achievement for SpaceX, the Starship rocket has completed its fourth test flight successfully, sparking attention to the crucial seal around its thermal protection. The test flight, conducted on June 6th, aimed to achieve a successful atmospheric re-entry of the Starship's upper stage.

Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, expressed cautious optimism about the thermal protection seal's effectiveness. "We think it will work, but it may not work," Musk stated during an interview with Tim Dodd, known as Everyday Astronaut, on June 5th. The seal in question is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the rocket's steering flaps during re-entry from orbit.

The Starship rocket is the largest in the world, comprising two main components: the Super Heavy booster stage, towering at an impressive height of 71 meters and equipped with 33 engines, and the 50-meter Starship upper stage. However, the previous test flights of the Starship were met with challenges. The first two attempts failed to reach the intended orbit, while the third flight in March resulted in the upper stage breaking apart during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere.
