In a shocking incident on Sunday afternoon, a fight at a shopping center in west Colorado Springs escalated into a shooting, leaving two individuals injured. The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) swiftly responded to reports of an active shooter at the Walgreens located within the shopping center at Highway 24 and 31st Street.

Upon arrival, CSPD officers discovered one person with a gunshot wound outside the store. Witnesses reported that the suspect may still be inside the Walgreens at the time. In response, the store was immediately locked down, and law enforcement teams, including tactical units, were deployed to search for the shooter.

Fortunately, when patrol officers entered the business, they found a person who had sought shelter inside the Walgreens. This individual, who is currently being referred to as a witness, was safely escorted out of the building. No other individuals were found inside the store during the search.
