**Sharon Stone Blasts American Voters at Torino Film Festival Following Trump's Reelection**
Sharon Stone's recent comments ignited a fervent discussion during her appearance at the Torino Film Festival. The Academy Award-nominated actress delivered a scathing critique of American voters following the reelection of Donald Trump, labelling Americans as "ignorant" and "arrogant."
In reference to the controversial election outcome, Stone expressed her frustration, emphasizing the need for a more discerning approach to electing officials. "We must pause and reflect on our choices for government. Are we truly selecting our leaders, or is the system choosing itself?" Stone questioned, drawing a parallel with historical political regimes, "Italy has experienced fascism firsthand. You understand the consequences of such governance. You've witnessed it before."
Stone described the United States as being in a state of "adolescence," marked by ignorance and arrogance. She lamented, "Adolescence is inherently arrogant, thinking it knows everything. My country is going through this phase, demonstrating a profound naiveté."
She also spoke about the limited worldview of many Americans, citing statistics. "Eighty percent of Americans don't own a passport and are uneducated in global affairs, caught in their extraordinary naiveté," Stone noted. She advocated for mutual assistance and education as remedies to these issues, stating, "We must help each other to address these problems."
Stone attended the film festival to accept a lifetime achievement award, but she was not the only one voicing concerns about American awareness. Earlier, Alec Baldwin presented a screening of "The Hunt for Red October" and similarly criticized the American public's understanding of global issues. He remarked, "Americans are very uninformed about reality, whether it's climate change, Ukraine, or Israel. They only seek superficial information."
Stone had previously hinted at relocating to Italy, revealing to The Daily Mail in July that she was contemplating buying a house there should Trump win the election again. She cited her dismay at seeing someone run on a platform of "hate and oppression" as a major factor in her decision.
