### Vance Confident Ahead of VP Debate, Skips Intensive Prep

Senator JD Vance has expressed confidence ahead of his upcoming vice presidential debate against Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, stating he doesn't need extensive preparation. Unlike his opponent, Vance has opted out of any rigorous pre-debate training sessions.

“We have well-developed views on public policy, so we don't have to prepare that much," Vance, a Republican from Ohio, told The Post during a press call on Wednesday. He indicated that his preparation efforts have been minimal, contrasting with Walz's intensive "multiday debate camp" in Michigan.

The debate, hosted by CBS News, is scheduled to take place on October 1 in New York. While President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris previously spent days preparing for their debates against former President Donald Trump, Vance has decided not to follow this method.

"We're not planning to do anything similar," Vance confirmed. "Our focus is on making a concise and direct appeal to the American people about Donald Trump's successful policies and Kamala Harris' failed policies."

Vance was critical of Harris's record, citing issues such as the affordability of groceries and housing, as well as job loss among Americans. He stressed that his campaign has nothing to hide and will simply discuss their record.

In preparation for the debate, both candidates have participated in mock sessions. Governor Walz has been prepping with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg standing in for Vance, while Vance has been sparring with Rep. Tom Emmer, the House majority whip, and a fellow Minnesotan, to get ready for Walz's "folksy" style.

Vance’s approach has mostly involved home-based preparations in Cincinnati, aided by his wife Usha and Trump campaign senior adviser Jason Miller, according to a person familiar with the process.
