In a ongoing investigation, police are desperately searching for 14-year-old Bryson Muir, a Logansport boy who has been missing for over a week. The case has taken a concerning turn, with Bryson's parents, including his father, former Indianapolis Colts player Daniel Muir, now named as persons of interest.
Bryson was last seen on June 16, leaving his grandmother's home near Cleveland, Ohio, accompanied by his mother, Kristen Muir, in a white 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. Worried family members had observed that the child had a black eye and feared that he may be a victim of abuse at the hands of his parents. Shortly after their departure, local police pulled over Kristen's Suburban, but Bryson was not found in the vehicle.
Investigations intensifed two days later, when the Cass County Department of Child Services alerted Indiana State Police to allegations of domestic battery against Bryson. Despite multiple attempts to contact the Muir parents, it was not until recently that detectives were able to make initial contact with the couple at their Logansport property along the 1700 block of West US 24. However, Bryson still remains missing, and no arrests have been made thus far.
Intriguingly, the Muirs' Logansport property is connected to the Servant Leader's Foundation, a religious nonprofit organization. The Suburban driven by Kristen Muir is also owned by this foundation. Reporters from FOX59/CBS4, who visited the property, discovered that it is tucked away on a secluded two-lane road, surrounded mostly by trees. The area is marked with various no-trespassing and private property signs, but there are no prominent signs bearing the name of the Servant Leader's Foundation. Instead, a sign that reads "Welcome to Straitway Indiana Goshen" can be found nearby, featuring a crest displaying an "S" on a shield with two swords forming an X behind it.
Straitway Indiana Goshen is associated with Straitway Truth Ministries, a religious group based in Tennessee that some have labeled as a cult. On their website, the group identifies themselves as a "nation of Hebrew Israelites who are commandment keepers; obedient to Yah (God) and our savior, Jesus the Christ." Troublingly, a video found on Straitway's official YouTube page shows a man who strongly resembles Daniel Muir, preaching from a stage and discussing a place called Goshen while holding up a picture of himself and former Colts' player Robert Mathis.
Despite the gravity of Bryson's disappearance and concerns about his well-being, a Silver or Amber alert has not been issued as the information currently available to police does not meet the criteria. Indiana State Police Capt. Ron Galaviz reiterated that Bryson's safety and well-being are their primary concerns and urged anyone with information on his whereabouts or his parents to contact the Indiana State Police Peru post at (800) 382-0689 or to call 911. The search for Bryson continues, and the community remains hopeful for his safe return.
