In a contradictory turn of events, officials from Bethel Park High School have refuted earlier reports concerning the alleged bullying, threats, and membership in the school's rifle team by Thomas Matthew Crooks, the individual who fired a shot at former President Trump during a Pennsylvania rally.

Updated statements released on Saturday by the school officials directly contradict previous claims. According to the officials, there is "no record" of Crooks ever participating in the rifle team tryouts or being dismissed from the team due to any character or performance concerns. Dismissing earlier reports, the officials clarified that they do not have any evidence or record of such occurrences.

The school's statement acknowledged the possibility that Crooks might have informally attended a practice session, taking a shot and subsequently not returning. However, the officials were unable to confirm these details, stating that they have no record of it happening.

Furthermore, the school refuted reports suggesting that Crooks had made violent threats against the school. Contrary to these claims, the officials described Crooks as a "quiet, bright young man who generally got along with his teachers and classmates." The school emphasized that there were no indications of bullying or threats in his academic records or behavior.

Highlighting Crooks' academic achievements, regular attendance, and the absence of disciplinary incidents, including those related to bullying or threats, the officials stated that speculating about Crooks' life after graduating in 2022 would be "wildly irresponsible."

While reports circulating on what Crooks might have been involved in prior to the event include him searching for porn and using a drone to scope out the rally, the school officials did not confirm or comment on these specific allegations.

The conflicting statements by school officials regarding the alleged bullying, threats, and rifle team connection have added another layer of complexity to the investigation into Thomas Matthew Crooks' motive for targeting former President Trump. As the investigation unfolds, authorities will continue to examine all available evidence and statements to gain a clearer understanding of the events leading up to the incident.
