In a devastating incident this morning, a Santaquin Police officer lost their life after being struck by a semitruck on Interstate 15 in Santaquin, Utah. The tragic accident prompted a shelter-in-place order in the area as authorities initiated a search for the suspect involved.

According to Spanish Fork Police, Fire, and EMS, the officer was hit by the semitruck at the South Payson junction on I-15. As a result, the road has been closed at that location, causing significant traffic disruptions. Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes, such as using back roads via West Mt., to access Santaquin.
