A 4-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted from a Santa Monica restaurant in broad daylight has been found safe, police reported on Friday. The incident took place at a Panda Express restaurant located on Pico and Lincoln boulevards around 12:11 p.m.

Authorities swung into action immediately after the child's grandmother dialed 911 to report the kidnapping. More than 30 officers rushed to the scene, collecting video evidence and searching for the alleged kidnapper, later identified as 31-year-old Breanna Shields.

Approximately 26 minutes after the reported kidnapping, officers discovered Shields and the child together in a room at the Holiday Motel on 11th Street and Pico Blvd. Shields, who is reportedly homeless, was taken into custody. The investigation revealed that she had been residing at the motel for an extended period.

Fortunately, the child was unharmed during the incident. We will do everything we can to make sure they are helped through this time and also to make sure no stone is left unturned in the investigation."

As the investigation progresses, the authorities are determined to uncover any additional details surrounding this alleged kidnapping. The motive behind the abduction, as well as the relationship between the suspect and the child, remains uncertain at this time. The police are working diligently to provide answers and ensure the safety of the community.
