**Saints' Chris Olave Hospitalized After Severe Hit During Game Against Panthers**

New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave endured a disturbing injury during Sunday's matchup against the Carolina Panthers. A harsh collision in the first quarter led to Olave being carted off the field and later diagnosed with a concussion. The incident occurred as Saints quarterback Derek Carr aimed a pass over the middle, only for Olave to be sandwiched by Panthers defenders Xavier Woods and Mike Jackson as the ball flew out of reach.

The critical blow came from Woods, who struck Olave high and from his blind side, causing Olave to collapse and lie motionless on the turf. The seriousness of the situation was apparent as medical personnel quickly responded and numerous flags were thrown. Concerned players from both teams gathered around Olave, creating a tense atmosphere within Bank of America Stadium.

As medical staff attended to Olave, his teammates Andy Dalton, Lonnie Johnson, and Shy Tuttle stayed close by, while Mike Jackson, one of the players involved in the hit, was seen kneeling in prayer. After a few anxious moments, Olave, strapped to a backboard, was placed onto a cart, showing some movement in his arms and legs before being transported to a Charlotte hospital for further evaluation.

Despite the alarming nature of the injury and the fact that Olave had recently returned from a concussion sustained in Week 6 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he did not don a guardian cap for extra head protection in this game. Fortunately, later news from Olave's brother, Josh Olave, brought some relief as he confirmed Chris had contacted him and was "up and active."

The Saints quickly updated fans, confirming that Olave had been discharged from the hospital and would accompany the team back to New Orleans. The incident, however, sparked criticism from former Saints receiver Michael Thomas, who took to social media to express his disapproval of quarterback Derek Carr’s performance and decision-making. Josh Olave even echoed Thomas' sentiments by retweeting his critical remarks directed at Carr.

While Chris Olave's return to health and the playing field remains the primary concern, the unfolding drama and criticism highlight the intense emotions and controversies surrounding such a severe in-game injury.
