### Rep. Dean Phillips Claims Millions of American Voices Were Ignored in Election

Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.) recently expressed his concern over the suppression of not only his own voice but also the voices of millions of Americans during this election season. Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," Phillips addressed host Shannon Bream’s inquiry about whether he felt overlooked by his party throughout the campaign and election process.

"My voice, yes, was ignored, but tens of millions of Americans' voices were ignored and suppressed and disenfranchised," said Phillips, who earlier this year launched a Democratic primary bid against President Biden. The Minnesota congressman was one of the earliest Democrats to publicly urge Biden to step aside in favor of new leadership, highlighting his foresight months before it occurred.

Phillips pointed out that he wasn’t alone in his concerns but was indeed the only one who vocalized them publicly. "I was not the only one that recognized what was likely to happen last week. I was the only one that was willing to say it live," he remarked. He criticized the political culture of silence and the incentives within the system that he believes harm the country, noting that this issue spans across both major parties.

The congressman has consistently advocated for greater competition within both the Democratic and Republican parties and was notably frustrated by the lack of a standard primary among Democrats. He emphasized that all parties need to better understand and address their constituents' needs.

"No party has a monopoly on ideas, and I'm one of those getting sick and tired of it," Phillips said. He referred to his efforts to represent what he calls the "exhausted majority" — Americans from the center-right and center-left who he believes deserve better representation.

"Congress can't fix this, President Trump, President Biden cannot fix this. We got to start setting aside the nonsense, coming back together and elevating people of competence, decency, and integrity so we can get our act together, because time is short, and the needs are significant," Phillips concluded, stressing the urgent need for unity and effective leadership.
