In a fiery concession speech following her primary election loss, Democratic Representative Cori Bush of Missouri took aim at the nation's largest pro-Israel organization, the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), warning them to "be afraid." Bush, whose opponent was financially backed by AIPAC, accused the group of radicalizing her and vowed to tear down their influence.

During her speech, Bush directly called out AIPAC, stating, "All they did is radicalize me, so they need to be afraid. AIPAC, I'm coming to tear your kingdom down." She didn't stop there, firmly addressing corporations as well, proclaiming, "And let me put all of these corporations on notice, I'm coming after you too!"

Pro-Israel groups invested significant financial resources in an attempt to unseat Bush, a vocal critic of the war in Gaza and the policies of the Jewish state. In her concession speech, Bush emphasized that leaving the legislature would remove certain "strings" holding her back from fervently challenging AIPAC. "Because now, there are some strings that I have attached," she explained. "And as much as I love my job, all they did was radicalize me, and now they should be afraid."

One of the major players in the efforts to defeat Bush was the pro-Israel super PAC, United Democracy Project, which spent a considerable $8.5 million on the campaign. AIPAC targeted Bush as a weak candidate due to her repeated criticisms of Israel's response to the Hamas attack on October 7. This is not the first time the super PAC has intervened against a member of the progressive group known as "The Squad." In June, they spent a staggering $15 million to defeat another Squad member, Jamal Bowman, who ultimately lost to George Latimer, a pro-Israel centrist.

As Rep. Cori Bush prepares to leave her legislative position, her adamant stance against AIPAC and pro-Israel interests remains unwavering. With a renewed sense of determination, she aims to challenge the powerful lobbying group's influence, making it clear that her fight against their policies and those of corporate entities will not wane.
