### Country Singer Sundance Head Recovering After Accidental Shooting Incident

Country music artist and former winner of "The Voice," Sundance Head, is recuperating at home following an accidental shooting incident which occurred while he was on a hunting trip at his ranch in East Texas. According to his agent, Trey Newman, the accident took place when Head was retrieving a .22 caliber pistol from his vehicle. The firearm slipped out of its holster, discharged upon impact with the vehicle's exterior, and the bullet struck Head in the stomach.

The singer, who won the 11th season of NBC’s "The Voice" in 2016, was promptly airlifted to a hospital in Tyler, Texas, approximately 100 miles east of Dallas. Fortunately, the bullet did not hit any vital organs, and surgery was not required. Newman confirmed that Head was released from the hospital later that same Friday.

Sundance Head has a history of competing in televised singing contests, having appeared on "American Idol" in 2007 where he made it to the top 16 before being eliminated. Despite the recent incident, Head is expected to continue his music career with scheduled performances in Texas and Illinois. The singer hails from Porter, Texas, a community located north of Houston.
