Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, one of the league's most reliable kickers, is facing uncharacteristic challenges this season. Tucker missed two crucial field goals in the first half of the Ravens' recent loss to the Steelers, bringing his total missed kicks for the season to seven. This unusual performance has sparked questions about whether Tucker, an all-time great, has lost his touch.
Despite these concerns, the Ravens organization remains firmly supportive of Tucker. The kicker himself is confident that he can correct his course. In a 54-yard field goal attempt during the second half of the matchup against the Steelers, Tucker made a conscious effort to adjust his aim, successfully sending the ball through the uprights. He acknowledges that missing to the left has been a recurring issue and believes the solution lies in consistently adjusting his aiming point.
"The adjustment is pretty clear," Tucker stated in an interview with Jeff Zrebiec of TheAthletic.com. "I just need to make a point to not let the ball go left."
Given Tucker's impressive track record, he has some leeway to prove that he can make the necessary adjustments. However, if the inconsistencies persist, the Ravens might need to reassess their unwavering faith in him.
